Originally released in 2001, Deep in the Hole was never released on vinyl in the US. Bong Load Records is proud to reissue this iconic, desert rock record on its 15 year anniversary. 

 

If you don’t know this band you should, and if you do know you get why Chris Goss and Masters of Reality are so well respected​.

Masters of Reality was formed in 1981 by Goss and Tim Harrington and has been an integral part of the desert rock scene and an influential artistic collaboration ever since. Frontman and main musical force Chris Goss has also produced and collaborated with notable acts such as Kyuss, Queens of the Stoneage, The Screaming Trees, The Duke Spirit, Fatso Jetson, The Foo Fighters and The Desert Sessions. 

The revolving door policy of Master’s of Reality, with Goss as its only constant, has brought forth a plethora of talented musicians over the years, both live and in the studio, including Ginger Baker (Cream), Victor Indrizzo (Circus of Power), David Catching (Eagles Of Death Metal, Mojave Lords), Abby Travis, Brendon McNichol and long time collaborator/drummer John Leamy to name a few. 

One of their most notable releases is Deep In the Hole, which features Goss and luminary desert rock musicians such as Josh Homme, David Catching, Troy Van Leeuwen, Brendon McNichol, Nick Oliveri, Nick Lucero (all known for Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Eagles of Death Metal) as well as Mark Lanegan and Roxy Saint.
